I'm Expecting Again

Long time no email! I feel like I don't really have anything to write about since I just emailed last thursday. But the big news I guess is that I am training! I wish we still had facebook so I could stalk the mission facebook page and see what my trainee looks like but that  ship has sailed so guess I'll just have to wait till Thursday. Ahh I'm nervous but mostly just excited to have a baby again...I know God has some great miracles in store these next two transfers! I just said goodbye to Hermana Mathis a few hours ago and am staying with the English sisters until transfer meeting on Thursday. Ughh I love them but I don't like praying in English it's so weird now. I'm looking forward to having fun with them the next few days though...we're just going to roam Amish town until we've got some new investigators haha. Just kidding. Maybe not though. Here is a miracle that happened this week though! Hermana Mathis and I fasted on Monday and we asked heavenly father if he would please bless us with some new investigators if we promised to talk with everyone. So we went out on our bikes and we did and we found big Mike at a bus stop! He is so sweet and really prepared. He has really accepted and felt the truth of everything we've taught him because he is just so in tune with the spirit. When his friends were asking him why he was learning from the Mormons, "they don't even believe in Christ" he told them "are you kidding? Have you seen the name of their church? How could you think they don't believe in Christ that's all they've ever talked about since they met me they love Christ!" Go get em Mike. When we taught him about the Book of Mormon he was just like " wow that makes perfect sense... I always thought that Christ had to have visited more people than just the ones in Jerusalem and now I have the proof!" I love it when we are able to find and teach those who really are prepared for the gospel. You can tell because it just makes sense to them. I know those people are out there for all of us... we just have to open our mouths a little bit and have a little faith. If we do that then the ones who are searching for the truth will reveal themselves. I love this work and I love my Savior and I love being able to testify of Him everyday. Hope everyone has a great week...please keep a man named Eladio in your prayers. He is a recent convert in our branch and is really old and had to be rushed off to the hospital during church yesterday. Love you all!

Happiest Place on Earth

Woah this is so weird writing on Thursday instead of a Monday. But it's for a good reason.. basically I just had the best Pday of my life. And that's saying a lot because last pday, wait for it... wait for it.... I FINALLY SAW SOME REAL FLORIDA GATORS.
So I'll just keep it suspenseful and let you keep guessing what I did today that could possible be better than seeing an alligator after 8 alligatorless months in Florida.  So this week has been kind of crazy... it is Hermana Mathis' last week here and basically this scripture can sum how I feel about my life lately
"For where two or three are gathered together [eating]....there will the [missionaries] be also." Matt 18:20. Go check it it's there. Because Hermana Mathis is leaving everyone just automatically like ooh Missionaries + farewells = food so everyone just keeps trying to feed us and being me I can't say no so it's been pretty great. Also we got to go up to Tampa to do the missionary training experience thing for a day and a half again because Hermana Mathis never got to go so that was fun! But the most glorious part of this whole killing off your companion thing is we got to go to the happiest place on earth in Orlando today!
And nope it wasn't Disneyworld, even though we drove past it on the way there and I would lie if I didn't say I wasn't at least a little tempted to stop the car and go there for a little bit. But we were able to go to the Orlando Temple! It has been over 8 months since I have been able to go to the temple and I have missed it so much. Going to the temple really helped me remember why I came out to serve a mission in the first place and really affirmed to me that Heavenly Father knows and cares about us individually. I felt that so strongly today, that I am a daughter of God and that He is proud of my and the work I am doing. I honestly can't ask for a better feeling than that. I seriously can't believe that another transfer is over... it has been the fastest and one of the funnest ones so far. I can't believe Hermana Mathis is going to be leaving me on monday! Ill be getting the transfer email on saturday and my new companion next thursday so stay tuned for that. I know you're all super excited and the suspense is killing you so just try not to think about it too much and get some rest these next few days alright? tgus is short this week, but I've got a lot of pictures to send though soo sorry if I annoy ya'll with a bunch of pictures of my face pero asi es. Que tengan una buena semana!

Todo Bien

What I've learned on the mission: the week before a baptism wouldn't be the week before a baptism if you didn't at some point think that the baptism would never happen. Kind of sums up this week haha. So we have been able to see Celfia pretty much every day since I got here but of course, the week before her baptism we were pretty much never able to see her. Monday? not there. Tuesday? had to leave suddenly and missed her baptismal interview. Wednesday? Couldnt get ahold of her. Thursday? We had meetings the entire day in Tampa and couldn't see her. By friday I was pretty convinced that she had fallen off the face of florida. But lo and behold, we were finally able to contact her, teach her and have her interview on friday and everything went perfectly with that. There were a few minor setbacks day of the baptism, but I mean those were well expected by now, but in the end everything went perfectly and there were a lot of members there to support her and welcome her into the branch. She was so happy. She is such a strong woman...none of her family could come to her baptism but she was just so happy and knew she was making the right decision so it didn't even matter to her. I forgot my camera chord so I can't send any pictures today but I will next week!
- Oh man but getting her confirmed the next day was probably one of the most stressful mornings of my life! Her ride to church fell through and we were having to call a bunch of members at 9am right as church was starting trying to get her there...I felt like I was in a super intense movie or something--- you know as intense as making a bunch of phone calls and driving all over the place trying to get someone to church so they can receive the gift of the holy ghost can be. But in the end everything went well and Celfia was confirmed and is now a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints. Im so grateful that Ive had the opportunity to see the gospel of jesus christ at work in her life and see her faith grow and continue to these next few months.

- We had Zone conference this week and I wish I had time to tell you all the things that I learned but ahh I dont. Basically....I just know that we have a Heavenly Father who knows us his children, a Savior Jesus Christ that helps us become the children our Heavenly Father knows we can be, and the Holy Ghost who leads and guides us so we can become closer to our savior jesus christ and heavenly father. It just all works so perfectly. Love you all and hope everyone has a good week!!
